Saturday morning... again.

Well, another busy Saturday that ended up at the mall.. I do now proper hate Riccarton mall.. But it has everything the young frugal shopper needs.. unfortunately.

I got word that a sister was coming to visit so had to invest in a new bed.. so this morning the bed was delivered at 8.30. so got up and went to the gate in ma PJ's, (this seems to be something that happens with every delivery, not that i'm always dressed as such, just a coincidence) so put the washing on, had B&E for breakfast, shower, hung the washing out and off for my coffee.

I went and got my credit card sorted finally and so felt it needed a little exercise. turns out Briscoes had a sale on so managed to find most of the bedding requirements.

Although I never really managed to think it through as to the return journey.. on a bike.

It was once discussed and agreed that I was indeed a 'selfish' person, the people from whom this discussion arose will of course be kept anonymous. but if pictures don't suffice in this particular case, allow me to spell out how this picture came about.

Mark goes to Riccarton
He goes shopping for bedding and pillows for his dear family who may one-day visit.
He cannot afford a taxi home after only the finest quality has been purchased for his fussy siblings.
He steals a supermarket trolly and walks an hour home looking like a bum. (Ever tried pushing a full trolly down really poor uneven footpaths..?)
He spends 2 hours putting his new bed together.

People at work are starting to wonder just how many packages I am waiting on... should just about be it for now though..

The outer frame has a deepish texture to it bordering the picture with a second inner, (small) rough texture.

Weekend

Had a good weekend, awesome weather again..
Obviously got a few loads of washing done but made it out for coffee and lunch on the Saturday before going to the gym with the Martins and a few others for a few games of basketball and volley ball.
Had dinner with Doug and Veronika after, was good to do a little exercise again.

Was very happy with Westpac on Saturday when for the second time I went to get a credit card and was faced with insufficient ID once again. I would have changed bank there and then if I wouldn't  face the same issue attempting to open an account. Am thoroughly sick of being hassled for ID..!

Well, thought I'd prove to a few un named persons I can hang a painting...!

New clock in the kitchen.. Quite funky.. If I say so myself, SOME may not like it... and that's ok because they shan't have to see it..

Am LOVING having a double wardrobe all to myself.. will never go back to a pokey single sorry Amy..

So that's my lot for the week, work is going well enough.. I may have lounge chairs by the end of the week, exciting again..

Colour..!

I was of recent contemplating a second painting for the living room and decided to have one of the same artist as will be opposite.

however after a brief look online I soon discovered many very cool paintings and so bought two more, (the other one is yet to come)

So thought I would share the new colours soon to be hanging in either bedroom.

One for the spare bedroom

and a wall in my room.

I would have to be honest and admit they are substantially larger than expected as the larger of the two, (rose) 1600x800mm.

very exciting..

Will be interesting to see how they look on the wall.

My Saturday

Well, was an enthusiastic and domesticated start to the weekend.

I got up and was expecting my washing machine to arrive so decided to get up to date with all the cleaning I had been meaning to do, so I got straight into the cleaning of windows, vacumed, swept the 'courtyard' and then proceeded to take delivery of, (they had waited at the gate for some time and didn't have my no. they weren't happy, but I had given them my no.) my washing machine.
put the first load through, very exciting.

Had bacon and eggs, breakfast and OJ. for breakfast and then went down the road for coffee.

went shopping of course and got a few groceries, washing basket and such. was interesting biking with a washing basket, few weird looks.

 so glad my land lady is so 'meticulous' in her inspections. I wouldn't even comment on the windows but ontop of now moulding carpet in the HWC...

Fascinating stuff this laundry business..

And.. all folded nicely...

seems this drab apartment could do with some colour, stay tuned for the colourful additions now on their way.. :)

New stuff..

Well, a rude awakening this morning with an EQ around 3 am. I must have gone straight back to sleep but apparently was a 5.3
Got a few phone calls later that morning but didn't seem to do much and certainly didn't disturb much around here.

I came home at lunchtime today and took delivery of my dining chairs and drawer units which was very exciting and subsequently had dinner at the table.. ON A SEAT...! was brilliant.

further good news, I got a phone call this morning confirming my application for Workbridge funding on transport to and from work so is all sorted and before I am shifted across city too, was very good to hear, will be handy too in the rain.

New WM and and maybe some lounge chairs arriving Saturday so will update on the place then.

New apartment

Well. it has been ever so long, but I got internet 3.5 minutes ago..

It is raining here today so am happy to be inside, setting up the new tables and such, still no chairs but the carpet is drying a little... AND the leak has been fixed, ( I think).

Well, a big thanks and hugs to Mummy and Daddy who got all my stuff down here and for helping me set up, 

So.. a few photos of the past happenings and apartment to date..

Mum was kind enough to trial my new bed so I slept the night on the floor, damp and smelly though it was.

Found ma slippers and PJ's which seemed to help the situation.

I thought I had bought a bed, so was a little taken aback to be given an armload of wood instead..!?!?!

New tables arrived today so will add those in.

Coffee table, no seats... but I have a coffee table.

Just had to throw this in there...  I arrived at the offices on my first day to a desk laid out with my name on it, a new laptop, bag, phone, diaries and notebooks, pens and induction booklets and of course my business cards.

Was about an hour later I had another armload of clothes, New double layered high vis jacket, windfleece jacket, a few polos, hat and vest and a new set of boots. All very exciting, But quite difficult to carry home as it turns out..

Well, I still to find a washing machine but am working my way through the ironing, very fun...

Am thinking of going out for tea tonight, just for one please, window seat and a candle, definitely.

EARTHQUAKE...! err, wow.. not that fun.. may have heard table creaking.. not sure about computer there now.

uhm, will go check it out.
